Princess Eugenie's Wedding

I just love a royal wedding, don't you? Today Princess Eugenie, granddaughter of the Queen and daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, married Jack Brooksbank. The wedding took place at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, the same venue where Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were married earlier this year. The bride's dress was by British designer Peter Pilotto and she wore a stunning emerald-embellished tiara loaned to her by the Queen.

My favorite element of the entire wedding was the florals, designed by London-based celebrity florist Rob Van Helden. The seasonal display featured roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, berries, and liquid amber trees in a fall-inspired color palette. Fall is my favorite season, and these florals will go down as some of my all-time favorites. So rich and natural and autumnal- just love, love, love! It was wonderful to see Princess Eugenie have her moment to shine today. (And she really did shine!) Here are my favorite photos from this very beautiful and memorable royal wedding...

The Loveliest New York City Wedding

Let's step away from Fashion Week Favorites today to admire my favorite wedding I've seen in a long time. First of all, if you are unaware of the bride, fashion photographer Jamie Beck, you need to remedy that, like right this minute. I kind of detest the term "girl crush," but it's really the only way to describe how I feel about her. Jamie's photography, personal style, and Instagram account inspire me to no end. Honestly, I'm not even surprised that her recent wedding to her creative partner, Kevin Burg, was every bit as elegant and timeless as she is. My favorite parts-- her custom gown made by my dream designer, Katie Ermilio, the classic NYC venue (The Carlyle Hotel,) the perfect garden-style flowers, the sun-drenched portraits in Central Park, the candlelit reception-- this wedding is a dream!

Our Second Wedding Anniversary

Happy 2nd Wedding Anniversary to my wonderful husband! I am so blessed to be married to the smartest, funniest and coolest guy I know. We had so much fun celebrating at the coast over the weekend and trading our cotton-themed gifts this morning.

A Wedding for Your Wednesday: Santa Ynez Vineyard

Digging into my wedding inspiration archives again today, I came across one of my favorites and thought I'd share! This stylish bride wore three dresses, two by Temperly and one by Philip Lim, with Louboutin shoes of course. My favorite parts of this wedding are the bride's bouquet (seeded eucalyptus and a giant king protea) and the miniature loaves of freshly baked bread used as favors/place cards. The whole vibe is so fresh, and so West Coast. It's like, earthy-glam! (Think burlap, jute, and succulents mixed with velvet ribbon and jewels.)

A Wedding for Your Wednesday: Luxe-Boho Barn

I'm back with another wedding for your Wednesday! Technically, this one isn't a "real" wedding; it's a fabulous photo shoot with a great color scheme and luxe-bohemian style. I love the high-low combination of fancy china and crystal, calligraphy, and silver with a quiet, unembellished barn. Rustic elegance isn't a new thing, but the black-tie dress code, champagne bar, and lack of burlap make this example totally fresh. This photo shoot could easily inspire a whole wedding, but I think I'm more for the idea of translating it into a backyard dinner, especially perfect if your backyard is a farm. I'm dying for an excuse to throw this party right now!

A Wedding for Your Wednesday: Pink Napa Valley

After planning my own wedding for almost two years and blogging about weddings for even longer, I was on wedding overload for a while there. When I first got engaged, I just couldn't get enough, but by the time ours came around, every event had started to look the same. But now that I have a few family and friends' weddings and engagements coming up in the next year, I'm just giddy over all the possibilities: not only for the weddings, but for the showers, parties, and rehearsal dinners! How I've missed the flowers, the linens, the food, the dreamy photos! My wedding may be behind me, but I'm starting to realize that my passion for entertaining has barely begun! So from now on, Wednesdays on the blog will showcase some of my favorite entertaining and event planning inspiration! I'm opening up the archives of all I've saved over the years, and I hope that some of you are as excited about it as I am! Today's wedding was held at Beaulieu Garden in beautiful Napa Valley, California. Anyone who remembers my wedding  and is aware of my love for pink flowers won't be surprised that I'm head over heels for this one, recently featured on Style Me Pretty:

Party-Ready!

Party-Ready, by BHLDN from BHLDN on Vimeo.

Stumbled upon this video via Dana at What-the-Frock, and couldn't resist sharing with you as well.  Total cuteness and wedding style perfection! Why, oh why, didn't BHLDN exist when I was planning my wedding? Sigh.

What Would I Wear... to Kate Moss' Wedding?

In addition to being beyond gorgeous, Kate Moss' wedding was attended by some of the coolest wedding guests I've ever seen.

Kate's Dreamy Day

The September issue of VOGUE magazine gives a behind-the-scenes look into the beautiful Gatsby-esque wedding of supermodel Kate Moss.  As I not so patiently wait for my issue to arrive in my mailbox, these photos that VOGUE released yesterday are definitely holding me over.  Up until this point, I'd only seen random paparazzi shots.  I cannot get over the details of this wedding: from the idyllic twelfth century church that the ceremony took place in, to Kate's little posse of bridesmaids pageboys, to the Edwardian wicker sets sprinkled across the garden. Vintage Rolls-Royces... the Gloucester Cathedral choir singing "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at the ceremony... a jazz band playing "It Had to Be You" in the white marquee as guests wander to the reception... the wait staff lights votive candles that hang from fruit trees in jam jars... Victorian chandeliers and Chesterfield sofas surround the dining pavilion and dance floor... It's all just so classy and elegant, with just enough of a hint of rock and roll edge to make it cool. Definitely not another typical celebrity wedding.

"Just before she sets off, Kate requests 'a few words, a story to inspire her--she loves a bit of direction!' says (John) Galliano. 'I told her, 'You have a secret--you are the last of the English roses-- and when he lifts your veil he's going to see your wanton past!'" -VOGUE

One Year ♥

Dear Husband,

I can't even believe we are already celebrating our first wedding anniversary. This first year of marriage has unarguably been the craziest adventure of my life... but being by your side makes each day worth the while.

The Royal Wedding

Photobucket

Of course I dragged myself out of bed after only three hours of sleep last night to watch the royal wedding live.  And I must say, it was worth every minute of exhaustion I experienced later on throughout the day.  Curled up by myself on the couch with my cup of tea, (I planned on making scones, but realized we were out of milk,) it couldn't have been a more peaceful morning.  I hate to be cheesy, but I couldn't keep myself from tearing up every few minutes just out of the sheer magic of it all. My favorite parts were watching the guests trickle into the Abbey topped with those fabulous hats, the first glimpse of Catherine's perfect-beyond-imagination dress, and just the raw, human moments sprinkled throughout.

Kate's family is so charming, the camaraderie between William and Harry so real, and the love between the couple so relatable. I just found the quick glances and whispered remarks between the couple, family, and wedding party to be so touching!  I love that William joked with Kate's dad at the altar: "This was supposed to be just a small family affair." I love that Kate did her own makeup, (a true DIY bride afterall!)  I loved the amazing sermon, (which every married or engaged person should read) by the Bishop of London! I just loved loved loved it all so much, I feel like I could watch it over and over again on DVD! William and Catherine forever!! (Don't worry, I promise to never be as embarrassingly excited over this as I was today.) :)

Anyway, make sure to check out the predictions I made for the wedding over on Weddingbee.  They ended up being pretty far from accurate, but I had fun imagining the details!  After today, however, I must say that no one could have planned it better than William and Kate!

Who else woke up early to watch?  What was the most memorable moment for you?

Behold This!!

Unless you've been hiding out under a rock this month, or maybe if my blog is the only one that you read, (hi Mom!), I'm pretty sure you've heard all about BHLDN by now.  BHLDN (pronounced "beholden," is Anthropologie/URBN's new bridal line.  Their web site is absolutely filled to the brim with vintage-y, handmade gorgeousness.  Of course, pretty wedding things like veils, white gowns, and the like are no longer on the radar for married girls like myself. (Or at least, they're not supposed to be...) *awkward silence followed by mischievous smile*

Being married totally isn't stopping me from being excited about BHLDN. Or stalking my new favorite dress on their web site:

LOOOOOOVE it.
