Gone to Look for America: (Mount Vernon, Virginia)

Photobucket

Last week I had the pleasure of introducing another one of my best friends to the East Coast. We made our way through Maryland, D.C., Virginia, and even Delaware, relearning what we vaguely remember being taught in American History class once upon a time. Along the way, we also took a lot of pictures and ate a lot of good food. Our visit to George Washington's home, Mount Vernon, was a highlight, as it was a first for Brandon and I as well.  Experiencing the beauty of that area during those last days of fall foliage was so special and awe-inspiring. Looking through my photos of Mount Vernon, I found them kind of Thanksgiving appropriate, so I thought I'd share them today.

Just finished baking a pumpkin pie and making cranberry sauce from scratch for the first time. Looking forward to celebrating my second Thanksgiving married to Brandon, but also hoping this will be our last one on our own! Hope you all have a lovely weekend! :)
