Winter Coat Roundup

As far as shopping goes, I've been in major saving mode ever since the wedding.  I have honestly not bought one thing for myself in months. Considering that my current job is a position that offers some major designer discounts, these shopping (or lack thereof) statistics are quite impressive! ;)

But as we enter November, and the temperatures begin to dip into the 40's, and *gasp* 30's, I've got one thing on my mind: winter coats! I have trouble justifying spending the money on a new coat, since I have a few super cute ones already in my closet.  But this cold, it's so... biting!  I've set out on a search to find a coat that is actually capable of keeping me warm as the weather gets even colder, but does not make me look like a giant marshmallow!

Here are some options that have caught my eye so far!

  1. Mine too! But that's my problem, I always go for cute over warm and water-repellent! ;)

  2. Mmmmm. I love wool peacoats. Wish they were warm enough to wear all year. My "go to" coat is a shin-length black down puffer jacket though. *That's* usually warm enough for me!!

  5. That Northface one is really cute for a Northface! I totally dig the first 3 though. I totally want another one now.

  6. I followed you over from weddingbee too!

I Love that first coat! It's so pretty and classy, but in my experience pea coats aren't always that warm.

The burberry coat is gorgeous too! Maybe it's warmer?

  8. The first one reminds me of the wool coat I just bought. In case you wanted another wool coat option: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=55474&vid=1&pid=789241&scid=789241022

  9. I like the North Face one too. You definitely want one that covers your butt! Haha... I learned that the hard way moving from SC to Boston. My down puffer is only hip length, but it zips in with an outer shell. Definitely get some help from a sales associate that knows what will be warm. You'll probably also want a knee-length wool coat in black or camel (or even a color) for dressier days.
