Fall Decor: Pumpkins Go Glam

Photobucket

I have a confession to make-- I hate Halloween.  Maybe it's my mom's fault, for pounding ideas into my head at an early age, like that Halloween is evil and trick-or-treating is creepy. (I'm with you on that, Mom.) My family was never anti-Halloween to the extreme. We still carved pumpkins and wore costumes to school.  But I was never allowed to be a witch or a ghost or anything... some of my best efforts were a pink poodle, a dalmatian puppy, and a ballerina.

In junior high, I even dressed up as a pumpkin, (once again, embaaarrassing), but conveniently enough, that brings me to the point of this post. As much as I dislike Halloween, I absolutely adore fall, and now that I'm "all grown up," I especially love decorating for fall. Since I'm not one to go crazy with spiders, ghosts, gravestones, etc.... what have I got left to work with? Leaves... and pumpkins.  Lately I've discovered so many stylish ways to decorate with pumpkins, while keeping it totally classy, even chic!

First up, who knew paint/decoupage plus pumpkins could equal so many pretty possibilities?

And second, why am I so obsessed with pumpkin vases/planters?  So simple, yet so glam!  By the way, if you hate pumpkin vases, then you definitely shouldn't follow me on Pinterest. ;)

Someday, I look forward to living in a place that isn't an awkward basement rental, in a state where I know more than a handful of people, so that I can have lots of stylish, pumpkin-filled parties to celebrate fall's arrival!
